Sometimes it’s because I’ve come across an incredible travel deal. Sometimes it’s because I saw a special on the Travel Channel or PBS or I’ve read an article extolling the vibes and virtues of a destination.
Some of the best trips I’ve ever taken have been spur of the moment. Some of the worst have been those that I overly planned and anticipated every stop and site. But what every trip has in common is that I never pay top dollar – and neither should you.
