It’s all my parents’ fault, really, for this wanderlust that has followed me throughout my life. They believed in seeing the world around us and in taking time to do it. My first trip out of the United States was at age 5 to neighboring Canada and over the years I’ve been fortunate to step on 6 of the 7 continents, and more than 100 countries.

Maybe some of my love of travel also can be attributed to all those National Geographic magazines that exposed me to the proverbial Four Corners of the World; I definitely recall playing travel agent with a globe and all those maps from the magazine at a young age. Although my career path diverged a bit from running my own travel agency (I ended up a college professor after a few stops as a journalist and PR person), I’ve never stopped traveling.

This site is dedicated not only to the sharing of my various journeys as a now mature woman traversing the world solo, but also to provide you, my fellow sojourners, ideas, tips, suggestions, and recommendations about how you too can see all the sites (and sights) of this amazing world. Remember, just because you may be traveling solo, it doesn’t mean you will ever be seeing the world alone!
